Website Terms and Conditions

These terms explain the rules for using cobbaccountingfirm.com and clarify the difference between general website information and professional services provided through an accepted engagement.

Effective and Last Updated: September 11, 2026
Website use does not create a client relationship

Submitting a form, scheduling a consultation, sending an email, or using a website resource does not by itself create an engagement with Cobb Accounting Firm. Professional services begin only after the firm accepts the engagement and the required agreement is completed.

Cobb Accounting Firm is a South Carolina single-member limited liability company. In these Terms and Conditions, “Cobb Accounting Firm,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the firm. “You” and “your” refer to a website visitor or user.

Section 01

Acceptance of these terms

These Website Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of cobbaccountingfirm.com and any webpages, materials, forms, scheduling links, calculators, downloads, and other website features made available by Cobb Accounting Firm.

By accessing or using the website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

Section 02

About Cobb Accounting Firm

Cobb Accounting Firm offers bookkeeping, tax preparation, tax planning, business consulting, payroll coordination, vendor management, bill payment, customer invoicing, and related services. The services available in a particular engagement depend on the written scope accepted by the firm and client.

Section 03

General information, not individual advice

Website content is provided for general informational and educational purposes. It is not individualized accounting, bookkeeping, tax, legal, investment, financial, payroll, or business advice.

Tax and financial outcomes depend on each person’s or business’s facts, records, elections, timing, and applicable law. You should not act or refrain from acting solely because of information presented on this website.

Website information may not fit your circumstances. Cobb Accounting Firm does not guarantee that website content will apply to a particular situation or remain current after publication.

Section 04

No client relationship

Accessing the website, submitting a form, sending an email, leaving a voicemail, downloading a resource, or scheduling or attending an initial consultation does not by itself create a client relationship or professional engagement.

A client relationship begins only after Cobb Accounting Firm agrees to accept the engagement and the appropriate engagement documents have been completed or accepted. The firm may decline a requested engagement, subject to applicable law.

Section 05

Engagement agreements control professional services

Bookkeeping, tax preparation, tax planning, payroll coordination, consulting, and other professional services are governed by a separate proposal, engagement letter, service agreement, or written scope.

If these Website Terms conflict with an accepted engagement agreement concerning professional services, the accepted engagement agreement controls with respect to those services.

Section 06

No guarantee of results

Cobb Accounting Firm does not guarantee a refund amount, tax savings, filing result, financial outcome, business result, loan approval, profitability improvement, or other specific result from using the website or engaging the firm.

Estimates, examples, calculators, illustrations, and educational materials are not guarantees. Actual results depend on applicable facts, complete and accurate information, third-party systems, governmental processing, and applicable law.

Section 07

Tax deadlines and urgent matters

Do not rely on a website message to preserve a deadline. A website form, voicemail, ordinary email, or consultation request does not satisfy a tax, filing, payment, response, appeal, or other legal deadline.

Cobb Accounting Firm is not responsible for monitoring or meeting a deadline unless responsibility for that deadline has been expressly accepted in a written engagement. You remain responsible for timely action until Cobb Accounting Firm confirms otherwise in writing.

Section 08

User responsibilities

You agree to provide information that is accurate, complete, current, and lawfully obtained. You are responsible for reviewing documents, returns, reports, account details, and instructions provided to you and for promptly reporting errors, omissions, changes, or questions.

You may not submit information that you do not have authority to provide.

Section 09

Confidential information and secure submission

Do not submit Social Security numbers, employer identification numbers, tax returns, tax documents, banking details, payroll records, passwords, identification documents, or other confidential information through a public website form, text message, appointment note, or ordinary email.

Use the approved secure process. After an engagement is accepted, Cobb Accounting Firm will provide document-submission instructions. You are responsible for following those instructions.

Section 10

Calculators, downloads, and educational resources

Calculators, checklists, guides, worksheets, examples, videos, articles, and downloads are general educational tools. Results may be estimates based on assumptions, simplified formulas, user-provided information, or rules in effect when the resource was prepared.

These resources do not account for every exception, limitation, election, jurisdiction, or individual circumstance and should not be treated as a completed tax calculation, tax return, financial statement, legal determination, or individualized recommendation.

Section 11

Website accuracy and availability

Cobb Accounting Firm may update, correct, suspend, restrict, or discontinue website content or features at any time.

Although the firm seeks to provide useful information, Cobb Accounting Firm does not warrant that the website will always be complete, current, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available. Content may become outdated as laws, services, technology, or firm practices change.

Section 12

Permitted use

You may use the website for lawful informational purposes and to learn about or inquire into Cobb Accounting Firm’s services. You may not:

  • Violate applicable law or another person’s rights
  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or unauthorized information
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the website or connected systems
  • Introduce malicious code or interfere with website operations
  • Scrape, harvest, copy, or extract website data through unauthorized automated means
  • Transmit spam, harmful material, or misuse forms and scheduling features
Section 13

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise indicated, the website design, text, graphics, branding, logo, calculators, downloads, videos, educational materials, and other original content are owned by or licensed to Cobb Accounting Firm and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may view and print reasonable portions for personal or internal business use. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit website content without prior written permission.

Section 14

Third-party services and links

The website may link to or integrate with scheduling, customer relationship management, payment, accounting, tax, payroll, document-exchange, social-media, and educational platforms.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, availability, and security practices. Cobb Accounting Firm does not control or accept responsibility for third-party websites, content, decisions, outages, errors, or practices. A link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement.

Section 15

Electronic communications

By contacting Cobb Accounting Firm electronically, you consent to receive responses and service-related communications electronically using the contact information you provide.

Communications may include appointment confirmations, requested responses, engagement communications, billing notices, security notifications, and other messages related to your interaction with the firm. Marketing communications remain subject to the choices described in the Privacy Policy.

Section 16

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cobb Accounting Firm will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to access to, inability to access, or reliance on the public website or its general informational content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Limitations concerning professional services are governed by the applicable engagement agreement.

Section 17

Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Subject to any enforceable dispute-resolution provision in an applicable engagement agreement, disputes concerning use of the website will be brought in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in South Carolina.

Section 18

Disputes and engagement agreements

An engagement agreement may contain separate dispute-resolution procedures applicable to professional services. Those procedures control disputes arising from that engagement.

Section 19

Changes to these terms

Cobb Accounting Firm may revise these Terms to reflect changes in the website, services, technology, business practices, or applicable requirements. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective or last-updated date.

Section 20

Severability and no waiver

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure by Cobb Accounting Firm to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce that provision or another provision later.
